Five Ways to Take Your Trade Show Booth to the Next Level
Exhibiting at trade shows offers a variety of benefits for product-centered businesses. Trade shows attract a concentrated audience of potential customers actively seeking solutions. This allows for increased brand visibility within your target audience, the ability to provide product demonstrations, and secure accelerated high-quality lead generation. Trade shows also provide industry networking opportunities, competitor insights, market research, and publicity. But to achieve these benefits, your booth needs to be impactful. That’s where we come in. Here are five ways to take your trade show booth to the next level.
1. CREATIVE BOOTH STRUCTURE
In a massive convention center hall with hundreds of trade show booths, an outside-the-box booth structure can help your company stand out. When an attendee steps into your space, they should feel like they’re stepping into your brand. The imagery, tone, look and feel of your booth should complement and enhance the product you’re selling.
Our designers and engineers have a variety of customization ideas up their sleeves. For example, your trade show booth could feature movable or permanent walls, bold architecture, or specialty flooring. Might we suggest a fabricated presentation stage? How about hanging signage, floating displays, dimensional brand elements, or attention-grabbing lit framed SEG systems? We’re just getting started. Let us quite literally take your space to the next level and build you a multi-story booth with designated areas for product demonstrations, networking, and more.
2. CUSTOM FIXTURES
Product displays should be as unique as your brand, and any number of materials can be used to enhance your aesthetic. For instance, iron piping can be used successfully as a fixture to hang your apparel products. Mirrored chrome brings bling to POP pedestal displays. Turf-clad footwear walls might give context to soccer gear, and custom wood tables and hanging elements can give your space a cozy feel. As pictured below, we made Solarcore®’s thermal insulation product the star of the show with custom acrylic display cases. You might also consider incorporating dimension or movement with floating or rotating displays, and improved user-experiences with custom stands and mounts, shelving, sampling stations, hidden storage compartments, lockable cabinets, and pull-out drawers.
The appearance of all base fixtures is customizable utilizing our advanced large-format printers and specialty materials. We can utilize printed vinyl to cover metal or plastic fixtures in imagery or brand color schemes, like we did for Puffin Drinkwear’s shelves (pictured above). Specialty printing effects like spot and flood varnish, neon ink, and raised ink printing can create complexity and even mimic other materials — e.g., faux woodgrain texture and concrete. The customization possibilities are truly endless.
3. DIGITAL INTEGRATION
Create interactive, engaging, and memorable experiences for trade show attendees through high-impact digital integration. Video walls, LED TV screens, and video projection are valuable tools for displaying product demos, testimonials, promotional videos, and presentations. Directional, motion activated sound systems will turn heads, and digital tickers, or other custom moving display components will direct your attendees’ eyes to your message. If audience participation is your goal, digital integration is a must.
4. LIGHTING
We’re big proponents of incorporating lighting in trade show booth designs. Strategic lighting can attract attention, enhance functionality, highlight key features or products, and transform the aesthetic of your booth. Dimensional logos or lettering can be lit, trim lighting incorporated around merchandise fixtures, toe kick lighting added to the base of pedestals, and edge lighting affixed to the edges of display cases. We can also incorporate track lighting, spotlights, additional custom overhead lighting elements, backlit SEG graphics, light projections, and color-changing LEDs. With the right combination of techniques, lighting can create a memorable, immersive experience that will make your product stand out.
5. SUSTAINABILITY
Finally, we can help you make sustainability a core part of your trade show booth design. Utilize banners and other signage to highlight how your company prioritizes sustainability. Bring the outside in with live greenery, including living walls (pictured left) or potted plants. (We have a Portland-based living wall plant partner on speed dial, ready to bring the green.) Most importantly, practice what you preach and use eco-friendly materials in your trade show booth design. We regularly stock over 40 materials — 20 of which are sustainable options — but can source just about any substrate. From floor graphics and wall coverings to banners and fabric, our material experts are well-versed and ready to suggest eco-friendly material solutions for all your graphic needs.
