CASE STUDY
Danner crafts footwear for the Northwest way of living. It only made sense for the brand to partner up with a professional sports team deeply rooted in the Portland community. We helped Danner create a dimensional wall for Providence Park that displays their signature hiking boots alongside symbolic Timbers objects.
The most challenging part of this project was making sure that all of the work we did in our shop was flawlessly executed so that we would be able to arrive on-site and install the display without a hitch.
Yes, we cut real Danner boots in half! To give the appearance of the shoes emerging from the wall, we carefully cut up the boots to place in our die line. The super clean cuts are a true nod to our cutting capabilities and our talented finishing department.
We performed a thorough site survey to craft a plan of attack ahead of production. Starting with a design from the client, our 3D engineering team used site measurements to map out the wall and carefully traced and digitized each boot outline to ensure a perfect fit. The wall was made up of two panels, with one of the boots overlapping both panels, making accuracy in measurements crucial.
For materials, we used a sustainable, zero-waste, and 100% recyclable board for the panels, and our 3M Preferred installers wrapped the board in the 3M graphic film that we printed in-house. We also printed and cut the large-scale dimensional Danner logo to brand the display.
On installation day, all of the careful work that we put in paid off. Installation was quick and seamless, with all elements fitting together perfectly. The result is a dynamic and unique display designed to engage viewers and get them excited for game day. Make sure to visit the display at Providence Park during the 2021 season at Section 98-99!
